Manchester - Culture and What to Do
Manchester, often described as the 'Capital of the North', is a city of diversity , boasting two Premier League football teams, the tallest UK building outside London, and the largest city centre shopping mall in the country. Much of the city has been regenerated, and many of it's buildings are steeped in history, as Manchester was the centre of the Industrial Revolution and textile production.
For shoppers, there are many shops and markets of all types which have absolutely everything you could wish for. There are also numerous museums, theatres and galleries for those seeking a more cultural experience. This, coupled with Manchester's multitude of bars, restaurants and fantastic nightlife make Manchester THE place to visit in the North of England.
If you are travelling, Manchester Airport is the 12th busiest international airport in the world, served by about 95 airlines and flying more than 19.5 million passengers each year.
